21 Non Roster Players on Their Way to Mesa

Another sign that spring training is right around the corner, aside from the 50 degree temperatures in Chicago today, is that the Cubs have announced the twenty one non roster players that will be invited to spring training.  Headlining that list is 23 year old outfield prospect Brett Jackson.  While none of these players will necessarily break camp with the Cubs (nine have previous MLB experience) they will all have the same opportunity to do so during spring training.  It will be interesting to see how the Cubs new staff on, and off the field evaluates the organization’s time in Arizona.

Here is the full list of invitees to get you ready for spring training!

Outfielders:

* Joe Mather (Signed by Cubs on 12/12/11)

* James Adduci  (Played in Rookie ball, and AA in 2011)

* Jae-Hoon Ha (Played in A+ and AA in 2011)

 

Infielders:

* Alfredo Amezaga (Signed by Cubs on 1/13/12) – Util IF

* Edgar Gonzalez (Signed by Cubs 12/13/11) – Util OF

* Jonathan Mota (Played in AA and AAA in 2011) – Util IF

* Matt Tolbert (Signed by Cubs on 1/20/12) – Middle IF

* Bobby Scales (Played in AAA and Japan Pacific League in 2011) – Util IF

* Michael Brenly (Played in A+ in 2011) – C

* Jason Jaramillo (Signed on 12/23/11) – C

* Blake Lalli (Played in AA in 2011) – C

 

Pitchers:

* Marco Carrillo (Played in AA in 2011) – RHP/RP

* Rodrigo Lopez (Re-Signed by Cubs 1/9/12) – RHP/SP
