Final Thoughts
Another series when looking at it I would think that the Cubs would split, at worst. However that was not the case as the Brewers were able to get too many timely hits to knock of the Cubs. I guess the numbers are a little skewed because of Thursday’s game where the Cubs went’ 7-10 with runners in scoring position and scored 8 runs while shutting out the Brewers. All this tells me is that the Cubs can compete with teams, they just aren’t finding ways to win yet. I think that will come as we get into the season more and the team gains some confidence, but so far the baseball that is being played is not that bad, unfortunately the record is saying otherwise.
Hero / Goat
Hero: Matt Garza – Did what the Cubs needed to salvage a game in this series
Goat: Marlon Byrd – Too many wasted at bats, now hitting .048 on the season
