Minor League Recaps from April 19, 2012
Not a successful day at all for the entire Cubs organization, as all three levels lost last night. Full Recaps after the jump.
Nelson Perez was really the only offensive threat for Daytona going 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Eduardo Figueroa took the loss for the D-Cubs, but wasn’t given any help from his defense as they committed two errors behind him which led to three unearned runs.

It was nice to finally see the Smokies score some runs, unfortunately they gave up way too many. Ty Wright, Michael Brenly, Justin Bour, and Nate Sampson all had multiple hit games. Sampson had the big day at the plate going 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, a walk, and three RBI’s. The pitching took it on the chin, surrendering 9 runs on 10 hits. Dae-Eun Rhee put the Smokies in a whole early, giving up five runs in the first two innings, he settled down and managed to escape with a no decision.

Anthony Rizzo will not slow down, he hit two more home runs last night, bringing his season total to 7, and his RBI total to 16 with 3 more last night. Unfortunately Rizzo was the only offense that the I-Cubs could muster against the Isotopes. Travis Wood started and took the loss as he couldn’t hang on to an early lead, he surrendered the deciding run in the 7th inning.
