Cubs Split Series 2 – 2
Full recap after the jump.
Final Thoughts:
Ugh, so close to a series win after an awesome comeback last night. Unfortunately the Cubs couldn’t parlay their furious comeback into a victory. This team is starting to round into form, and by form I mean a .500 ball club because I think that is their potential. They might be good enough to a win every other series or maybe two in a row, but I don’t see enough consistency throughout the team to go on an extended winning streak or a 10-1 stretch or something like that. The best part? There’s nothing wrong with that, I’m totally okay with how the Cubs played in Philadelphia, sure there were times that they looked like a very bad team, but there were also times where they looked like a competitive Major League baseball team, in fact more good than bad. A split in Philly is good, if they can win 2 out of 3 in Cincinnati this split looks great. Bryan LaHair continues to impress me with every at bat, soon enough Major League pitchers will have the book on him and make adjustments, the ability of LaHair to make his own adjustments will determine how good of a hitter he can be at this level.
