The wrist problem that has plagued Ian Stewart for most of the season is finally bad enough to land him on the DL according to manager Dale Sveum. Stewart was in the lineup tonight but was a late scratch because of said wrist problem. The wrist could be a big reason why Stewart has been struggling at the plate or he’s just bad, either way he is now shelved. Per Sveum Josh Vitters is NOT a candidate for a promotion at this time, expect Luis Valbuena to get the call from Iowa to take Stewart’s roster spot.
