Don’t look now, but the Daytona Cubs are starting to play some good baseball. The trend continued Tuesday night as the D-Cubs used an 8 run 3rd inning to smash the Stone Crabs 12-4. Every starter had at least one hit for Daytona with four guys registering multi-hit games. Rubi Silva had a big day at the plate going 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBI’s, he’s now hitting .315 on the season. The I-Cubs must have been tired of playing in 1-0 games so they decided to break out the bats in a big way against Fresno. Iowa pounded out 15 hits and 13 runs en route to a 13-2 shellacking of the Fresno Grizzles. Anthony Rizzo was the star of the show as he almost always is as he went 2-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI’s. Josh Vitters also had himself a day going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and 4 RBI’s. Chris Rusin took that run support and ran with it as he turned in six solid innings of one run ball to earn his third win of the season. It’s a fun box score for sure, go check it out.
