Weird Things Happened Last Night and the Cubs Won (VIDEO)

It might come as a surprise to you, especially if you checked out of the Cubs game early last night because like me, you had to get up for work in the morning.  Well, I stuck it out to the end, and I’m tired, but I’m also glad that I got to see whatever that was last night.  The Cubs trailed 6-0 early to the Mariners and for the first time in what seems like forever they came all the way back to notch their biggest win of 2016, so far.  The game featured five different players playing left field, one of said players was a pitcher who also made a tremendous catch at the wall.  The Cubs tied the game in the ninth, scoring their third run of the inning on a wild pitch and walked off in the twelfth on a safety squeeze from Jon Lester, of course.

Here is some of the video from last night, a huge win for the Cubs.

Jorge Soler Rips a two-run Dinger (VIDEO)

Soler Dinger

That sound off the bat is so very sweet.  Jorge Soler has been bringing the power this spring, not many other balls are falling right now, but he’s got the power stroke down.

The Cubs Mashed up with Perfect Strangers (GLORIOUS VIDEO)

Joe Lee is rather creative, here is a video he made that is the perfect mash up of the 2015 Chicago Cubs, and the popular TV show from back in the day, Perfect Strangers.  It’s so awesome.

Soriano Goes Deep Again in Victory Over Indians

Another day, another big home run from Alfonso Soriano, hopefully he can bottle this magic and take it North with him next week.  Soriano has been on fire at the plate, hitting six home runs on the spring, he’s clearly motivated, and a motivated Soriano can be a dangerous one for the rest of the National League.

Some Good Signs in Blowout Loss

The day got off to a bettar than decent start with Soriano blasting his third homerun of the spring season, and Chris Volstad working three spotless innings.  Kerry Wood also made his spring debut and was solid, that was about the extent of the good portion of the day as the wheels fell off shortly there after.  Carlops Marmol was touched up, big time.  He faced seven hitters on the day, five of them reached base, and four of them scored.  Something positive or negative that can be taken away from that depending on how you look at it was Marmol only hit one batter and walked no one.  He gave up four hits including a three run blast to rising prospect Dustin Ackley, one outing is not cause for concern, but it is a shock to the system for sure.
