Samardzija Dominant in Start

Jeff Samardzija fired the first shot in the competition for one of the rotation spots behind Dempster and Garza Wednesday afternoon.  Samardzija had electric stuff, and tremendous command, which is the biggest thing for Jeff.  If he can locate his pitches, he can be scary good, and he was this afternoon.  He tossed three scoreless innings, and is currently in line for the win as the Cubs are beating the Royals 5-1 in the 7th inning.  Check back later this evening for a full recap of today’s game.
