Do You Smell What the “Rock” is Cooking?
That was an easy one, of course I’m talking about Roderick “Rock” Shoulders, a 2011 25th Round Cubs draft pick. Rock, a high school stand out at Brandon High School in Temple Terrace, Florida was originally a draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2010 but chose to go to college instead of turning pro. After a productive season at State College of Florida – Manatee, Sarasota where he hit .318 in 52 at bats with 14 home runs and 58 RBI’s, not bad for a Freshman, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2011 first year players draft in the 25th round.
