Full Box Score

At The Plate – The Cougars had the bats working in this one, and they needed them as the Bee’s put the pressure on all game but Kane County was able to hang on for an 8-6 victory.  Oliver Zapata did some damage from the lead-off spot going 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.  Dan Vogelbach had a huge game going 2-for-3 with his ninth home run of the season, two RBI’s, two walks (CUBS WAY!), a double, and three runs scored.  Jeimer Candelario, and Rock Shoulders each had two hits and an RBI in the win.  Reggie Golden is back, and healthy, that’s the most important thing, but he’s also hitting, he went 3-for-4 with two RBI’s, he’s now hitting .368 on the season.

On The Mound Pierce Johnson got the start in this one and didn’t get much help from his defense, but was able to pick up his fourth win of the season.  Johnson worked five innings giving up four runs, two earned, on five hits while walking two and striking out five.  Eddie Orozco worked two innings giving up two runs on two hits while walking one and striking out two.  Felix Pena was outstanding going two scoreless innings giving up one hit while walking one and striking out three.
